{"id":13549,"date":"2025-09-22T07:00:54","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T04:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eeke.gr\/?p=13549"},"modified":"2025-09-18T10:18:04","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T07:18:04","slug":"preventia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/en\/preventia\/","title":{"rendered":"Preventia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Non-communicable diseases (NCDs),<\/strong> also known as chronic diseases, are diseases that are not transmissible from one person to another, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancers and chronic respiratory diseases. NCDs\u00a0are the result of\u00a0<strong>unhealthy lifestyles<\/strong>, e.g. tobacco use, physical inactivity, unhealthy diets and use of alcohol, leading to metabolic and physiological changes. In European countries, NCDs are responsible for an enormous part of the burden that public health systems in the Member States are facing. The increasing rates of deaths related to NCDs in Europe are concerning, but although running rampant, the complex health issues caused by NCDs can be tackled, if we improve prevention measures and promote health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Healthy diets are a key aspect of our lifestyle, and can help tackling the rise of NCDs.\u00a0A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats\u00a0is essential for our overall health, and\u00a0reduces the risk of chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nThe\u00a0<strong>Preventia project aims to\u00a0decrease the spreading of NCDs<\/strong> <strong>across the EU<\/strong>,\u00a0while reducing health inequalities and fostering\u00a0cooperation and exchanges between the EU Member States.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13540 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" data-id=\"13540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1.png 1080w, https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/oldeeke.web2social.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/cdec5e19-9b1e-714f-11ec-4956f3c18445-preventia-1-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Stay tuned for news about the consortium and developments from the project<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities to be launched in 2025 by SAFE, LCI, EEKE, CEIP, Promote Ukraine, U.DI.CON<\/strong>, <strong>ADOC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since the project launch in January 2024, we have laid strong foundations by partnering with\u00a0<strong>schools, migration centres, and healthcare institutions<\/strong>\u00a0to host our activities. We created tailored\u00a0<strong>training materials for schools<\/strong>\u00a0in disadvantaged areas, launched a<strong>\u00a0twinning programme for medical centres<\/strong>\u00a0to support peer learning, and designed a\u00a0<strong>culinary initiative<\/strong>\u00a0involving migrants and displaced people from Ukraine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, we kicked off school trainings in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DI-30HYx8vc\/?igsh=eHIwYXhxdGtwamF1\">Greece<\/a><strong>,\u00a0Croatia, and\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7328735394282299392\/\">Italy<\/a>,\u00a0and we held our first\u00a0<strong>culinary workshop with migrants in\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DJn_r-mRVCQ\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3D\">Athens<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s more.
